An international team of researchers has developed a new, lightweight film that’s waterproof, durable, and easy to work with, while still being flexible and easy for the human eye to pick up on.
The film can be coated with a clear polymer or coated with hydro dip.
The film, which is being tested in a series of lab experiments in Switzerland, has been developed by researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Water Science in Germany, the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, and the University College London in the U.K. It’s an environmentally friendly and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional rainwater conservation technology.
The coating is made from a thin layer of hydro dip polymer that’s already been tested in tests with different rainwater systems.
“Rainwater harvesting is not a good solution for water quality, especially if it is done in areas where there are no clear, clean, or healthy water sources,” said Andrea Trombetta, one of the lead authors of the paper published this week in Nature Communications.
“We are talking about water with a lot of nutrients, and it is a big problem for urbanization and agricultural use.”
The film is flexible and easily picked up on the retina and even the human skin, the researchers said.
The coating is so thin, that it can be applied to a variety of materials including glass and plastic.
“This means that we have a low-cost, flexible, easy-to-use, and environmentally benign rainwater management technology,” Tromgetta said.
The researchers have already tested the film on a variety, including concrete, steel, and wood.
Trombotta said the researchers hope that the film will be incorporated into existing water-collection systems, which typically have to be built with a thick, expensive membrane, which can be costly and time-consuming.
“It’s very possible that our film will one day become a standard rainwater coating for residential and commercial projects,” he said.
In the future, the team is working on developing new materials that are more flexible, easier to work and use, and can be easily cleaned and disinfected.
