(ET)A judge has granted the latest lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein by Netflix, ending his efforts to have the movie producer’s $40 million settlement dropped from his legal defense.
U.S. District Judge William Orrick granted the motion in a motion to dismiss, saying that the movie mogul’s lawsuit should be dismissed.
Orrick also dismissed the lawsuit filed by Netflix against Orrick.
The motion comes as Weinstein faces growing scrutiny for a string of allegations involving sexual harassment, sexual assault and misconduct.
The allegations include the rape of a 15-year-old actress in the 1980s.
Orrick dismissed the suit against Weinstein on Aug. 21 after it was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Orick also dismissed a lawsuit filed in March by Netflix on behalf of former employee Heather Graham, who said that Weinstein raped her in a hotel room in 2005.
